In November of 2016 Bonnie and I travelled to one of the most remote scuba diving locales on the planet. It took 3 days to get there. This was an area of the southeastern portion of Raja Ampat, a province of Indonesia just to the west of Papua New Guinea. We stayed at a land based resort named Misool Ecoresort. At the time, I was just getting into underwater filmmaking.
I chose Raja Ampat as a destination after about a year of research. My goal was to find the most biodiverse coral reef ecosystem on the plane and there was a loose consensus that the Misool area of Raja Ampat fit the bill.
It was a marvelous time. Bonnie and I also got engage on that trip, during which the Presidential election occurred.
